Processability Theory (PT) is a famous theory among TESOL and SLA as it offers the universality principle in acquiring second/foreign language. It means that PT can be applied in all languages. Besides, PT offers language developmental stages which allow learners to pass in sequence.
The theory is developed through research and yearly symposium held across countries such as in Australia, Europe, and Asia. In Indonesia, PT theory has not been popular yet. That's why, rare research deals with PT.
Together with some friends from University of Canberra, I attended the 10th Processability Theory (PT) Symposium University of New South Wales, Paramatta, Australia.
I presented my mini research with my lecturer, Yanyin Zhang. The paper was then selected as one of articles published at Australian Review on Applied Linguistics. Please go to the article link on https://www.jbe-platform.com/content/journals/10.2104/aral1029 if you are interested in.
The nice thing was that I had an opportunity to meet Pienemann Manfred who introduced PT to the world. He was quite questioning on the result of my mini research as some cases did not confirm the PT. Similarly, Liu Bo' s mini research on Chinese learners show the same trend as mine.
